A faithful replica of a Type K food ration packaging, Set B - Breakfast. The set includes two cardboard boxes for self-assembly. The larger box served as the outer packaging, with a description of the contents and the manufacturer's name. The smaller inner box contained the intended food ration. It contained only minimal information: the type of meal (B - breakfast, D - dinner, S - supper), and the name of the military contractor. Historically, the smaller packaging was additionally waxed for better protection of the contents from environmental conditions. The packaging has evolved over the years of production. The contents, packaging markings, scope of information, and the form of content protection have all changed in time. The presented set corresponds to Type IIIa packaging introduced in mid-1943. The outer box, when folded, measures approximately 18 x 9 x 4 cm.
