A typical piece of equipment for German soldiers during World War II, who were equipped with MP38 or MP40 submachine guns. The first prototype ammunition pouches appeared before the war. The first production model was produced from 1940 to 1941. The second production model appeared in 1942 and was produced until the end of the war. The first design had a D-ring sewn into the upper corner of the pouch at a 45-degree angle. A distinctive feature of the second design was the D-ring strap being placed at two-thirds height and at a 90-degree angle to the pouch.
