A faithful replica of a German military service watch based on a 1938 model, manufactured by the renowned Ailager® brand. Each watch features a black, 25 cm grained PU leather strap, finished with a traditional silver metal buckle on one side. The watch face is housed in a silver stainless steel case. The back of the dial is embossed with the words "Wasserdicht Stahlboden", which means "waterproof steel base". The black dial is framed around the edge by large, easy-to-read luminous numerals. The main hour and minute hands are also luminous, making them easy to read in low light conditions. Beneath the main hands is a smaller dial with a single hand, measuring time in seconds. The watch is battery-powered. The watches are packaged in an elegant, flat black Ailager® gift box.

Service watches were widely produced for the German Army by both Swiss and German watchmakers. They were used throughout World War II. Often, the watches were custom-made and had the soldier's service number stamped on the back. These watches were intended to be returned upon completion of military service.
