FOR REENACTMENT?
The Wehrmacht Heer Sportabzeichen (Adler) sports shirt patch was a large, distinctive emblem worn centrally on the chest of the white sports undershirts worn by German soldiers during World War II. The eagle design (M35) was officially introduced on May 14, 1935, replacing the earlier Reichswehr-era sports badge. These patches were used on sleeveless shirts worn during sports competitions, recreation, and basic training to identify affiliation with a specific branch of the armed forces. The Luftwaffe (eagle in flight) and the Waffen-SS also had separate patterns.
