Coastal Artillery Badge were established on 24th of June 1941 on request of admiral Erich Raeder. It was intended to honour the units responsible for the defence of the Reich's sea coastline against both sea and air attacks. There were individual and group criteria - point-based. Whereas every fallen soldier - a sailor of this kind of unit received it posthumously.
