A replica of the latest model of German M44 trousers in Leibermuster camouflage. This model of trousers had little in common with earlier designs. Their cut was extremely simplified. Made from a herringbone cotton fabric with an applied camouflage pattern, the trousers feature two straight rear pockets fastened with a single button. On the sides are two buttoned fabric flaps for waist adjustment. At hip level are two standard open pockets. On front is a small buttoned pocket for a watch. FOR REENACTMENT?
The M44 uniform in Leibermuster camouflage came into use in 1945, at the end of World War II. It was intended to be used by all units of the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS. However, the collapse of the Third Reich's industrial base at this stage of the war meant that production was already at a minimal level. Most photos from that period show the sporadic use of these uniforms by soldiers in the battles for Berlin and by troops stationed in the areas of still controlled Czechoslovakia.
