This offer presents a replica of a Cuirassier Pickelhaube featuring the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Prussia. It is made of silver metal with brass decorative elements. The sides feature rosettes, one in the national colors of the German Empire, the other in the colors of the German state. Inside, it features a non-adjustable leather head liner.

All these helmets are handcrafted and characterized by an individual craftsman's finish rather than mass-produced machine-made feel and look. Therefore, they may have individual characteristics and slightly differ in appearance.

FOR REENACTMENT?

Pickelhaube helmets were used by soldiers of the German Empire from the mid-19th century until 1916, when they were widely replaced by M16 helmets. The coat of arms and colors served as a distinguishing feature (identification) for the soldier's federal state. Metal versions of the pickelhaube were most often worn by cuirassiers (cavalry), but were also popular among high-ranking officers and were often seen in official photographs/portraits. Allied forces often referred to them as lobster-tail helmets due to the distinctive shape of the rear neck guard.
