One-piece helmet with a slight undercut and a small but visible profiled visor. The edges of the helmet are trimmed and rounded. The helmet has a replica of the control rivet in the rear part. Universal size - adjustable by insert liner made of cowhide. Strap fastening the helmet under the user's neck is made of leather with metal fittings, it is possible to adjust its length.

Helmets wz. 31 were used in the Polish Army from 1931. These helmets were also used by the Navy, the Border Protection Corps, the Border Guard and the Polish Police. Until the outbreak of the war in September 1939, approximately 320,000 pieces of "Salamandra" were produced. After the end of the war, the helmets were used by the Polish People's Army for a certain period.
