Wound straps were introduced in Red Army on 14th of July 1942. There was two versions of this patch: for light wounds (red color of the strap) and heavy wounds (yellow color of the strap). Light wounds were meant to be all which did not harm internal organs and bones, 1st and 2nd degree burns.
