A replica of a non-regulation dagger, the so-called "D-Day knife". The blade, handle, and sheath are made of steel. The whole thing is oxidized.
Ingenious designs for various combat knives were used and supplied to various units prior to the Normandy invasion. The dagger shown is one of the inspiring designs from this period, created using the French Lebel cross-shaped blade set in a knurled steel handle.

These non-regulatory designs were most common in the period leading up to the Normandy invasion. This was dictated by the significant demand for equipment during the invasion preparations. Such unusual designs were also the domain of Commando and OSS units, which ordered individually designed equipment.
