A faithful replica of the British Pattern Web Equipment 1937 Field Bottle. Like the original, the canteen is made of steel. The seal is a simple cork that is attached to the neck of the bottle with a piece of string. The canteen itself is secured with a sleeve made of green wool felt, which provides basic insulation and prevents the metal body from striking other equipment.
Two versions of the canteen carriers were used:
- The skeleton style. This is an open framework design consisting of intersecting canvas straps. It saved material and allowed the wool sleeve to help dry out or cool by evaporation.
- The sleeve style. This is a full canvas pocket that completely encircles the sides and partially the bottom of the bottle, providing additional protection.
This canteen is not suitable for storing drinking water! It is a non-functional replica!
- This item is new and unused.
- A perfect replica.
- Version with a canteen carrier in a sleeve version.
