A replica of the American M1910 shovel cover. The cover is made of cotton fabric in Olive-Drba No 7 shade. The hardware is blackened steel. The rear panel of the cover features distinctive hooks (straps) for attaching the cover to a backpack or combat belt.

This type of equipment was used by American soldiers throughout World War I and II, as well as during the Korean Conflict in the 1950s. The khaki version is characteristic of the entire period of World War I and the early part of World War II. Olive-Drba No 7 shade appeared at the end of World War II.
