These slings were primarily used for Carcano M91 rifles in the Italian Armed Forces. A version with brass fittings was produced before and at the beginning of World War I. During the war, a carrying sling with iron and steel fittings was introduced to save costs. In this version, the slings were produced until the end of World War II.
