This stunning Beobachtungs-Uhr (literally "Observer's Watch") from Ailager® is modeled after the iconic watches used by Luftwaffe crews, particularly bombers, since 1935. Originally conceived as a reliable wristwatch with a clear dial for the fledgling Luftwaffe, the B-Uhr featured a larger case and dial than standard watches of the period. The watch combines historical design with modern refinements. The most striking feature of the B-Uhren watch is its large case and elegant dial. The simple reversal of the hour and minute markers—placement of the minutes in the center and the seconds on the outer edge—was intended to make it easier for navigators to count down crucial minutes and seconds. Large hands coated with luminescent paint on the minute and hour markers improved visibility, while luminescent dots in the center of the dial enhanced readability. This refreshed version uses a safer, modern luminescent paint that requires exposure after 20–30 minutes of illumination. A crystal-clear, domed cut-glass lens protects the dial. Designed to be worn over thick bomber jackets and flight suits, the B-Uhr features a large, textured 7mm winding mechanism for ease of use. The 42mm matte alloy case complements the dial and strap perfectly, maintaining functionality. A double-riveted "Cray Horse" leather strap enhances its authentic appearance. The back of the watch is embellished with the inscriptions "Echt Leder" and "Ailager," highlighting its historical accuracy. Additionally, the fully engraved caseback features information about the type, production number, and other details, allowing the wearer to appreciate the details while maintaining the integrity of the original design.
The Ailager B-Uhr is presented in a beautifully crafted display box with a silver nameplate on top and a grained black finish. From the durable leather strap, to the large winder, and the comfortable dial, the B-Uhr brings a practical and affordable piece of aviation history to your wrist. The watch is battery-powered.

FOR REENACTMENT?
Service watches were widely produced for the German Army by both Swiss and German watchmakers. They were used throughout World War II. Often, the watches were custom-made and had the soldier's service number stamped on the back. These watches were intended to be returned upon completion of military service.
