FOR REENACTMENT?
The M1938 Lensatic Compass is the iconic, standard navigation compass used by the US Army during World War II. It was developed in the late 1930s to replace older, more expensive, and more complex marching compasses (such as the M1918). It became the direct ancestor of the modern military lensatic compasses still used by the US Army today.
