FOR REENACTMENT?
These types of bands were standard equipment for US Army soldiers serving in Vietnam. It was also issued to the Marine Corps since 1968. Although the bands were intended to support improvised plant camouflage, soldiers in Vietnam often used them to hold various accessories on their helmets, such as bottles of insect repellent or gun oil, spare magazines, field dressings, cigarettes, and more.
