Original M1 Carbine ammunition pouch in OD3 color. Also suitable for M1A1 Carbine magazines. The pouch is made of cotton canvas with blackened metal fasteners. Version for wearing on a belt (pouch secured on the belt with a snap) with the possibility of placing it on the stock of the M1 Carbine. Standard issue of US soldiers in the 40s and 50s, occasionally used in the 60s.

These types of ammunition pouches were used by US soldiers throughout World War II and during the Korean conflict. They were occasionally used even during the Vietnam War (in the USMC Corps and in the ARVN forces).
