A perfect replica of the World War II SAS (Special Air Service) beret insignia. The patch depicts a winged sword placed on a black background, beneath which is the famous motto: "Who Dares Wins" The patch symbolizes the unit's airborne nature (the wings) and its close-quarters combat capability (the sword). The motto perfectly captures the spirit of the unit, which from the outset focused on daring and risky sabotage operations behind enemy lines.
The SAS (Special Air Service) was founded in 1941 by David Stirling. Initially, its primary mission was to conduct sabotage attacks behind enemy lines during operations in North Africa. Operations demonstrated that small, highly motivated, and well-trained combat teams could inflict significant material and personnel losses behind enemy lines, leading to the development and expansion of this formation. In 1942, the unit was reorganized into a regiment. The personnel and number of combat teams were significantly increased, including the addition of teams composed of foreign soldiers from allied armies. The later years of the war led to the formation of additional regiments and other specialized formations. Operations in World War II demonstrated the importance and significance of such units, leading to their dynamic development both during and after the war.
