FOR REENACTMENT?

This type of beret was used by the Polish 1st Independent Parachute Brigade.

The 1st Independent Parachute Brigade (1 SBS) is an elite airborne unit of the Polish Armed Forces in the West, formed in Great Britain during World War II. It was established on September 23, 1941, on the initiative of its legendary creator and commander, Colonel Władysław ... (later General) Stanisław Sosabowski. It was the first unit of its kind in the history of the Polish Army, created with the goal of implementing the "Shortest Route" slogan—dropping it over occupied Poland to support a general uprising. In June 1944, the British forced the brigade to subordinate itself to their command. Instead of being sent to Poland, the 1st SBS was sent to the Netherlands to participate in Operation Market Garden—the largest airborne assault of World War II.
