FOR REENACTMENT?
While the United States produced many military watch designs issued during the war, the A-11 is arguably the most iconic. Early in the conflict, it was recognized that Allied personnel would need a wristwatch that would withstand the rigors of combat. This led to the development of specifications for this watch. Three American manufacturers (Elgin, Waltham, and Bulova) were awarded contracts to produce watches for the U.S. and allied armed forces under the Leand-Lease program.
