FOR REENACTMENT?

This is the first patch design worn by members of the ROA (Russian Liberation Army): the most famous formation of Russian volunteers fighting on the German side, led by General Andrei Vlasov. Although established for propaganda purposes as early as 1942, it did not gain actual divisional structures until the autumn of 1944, when it finally succeeded in establishing its own armed forces as the Armed Forces of the Committee for the Liberation of the Peoples of Russia. This formation existed until the end of World War II. After the war, most ROA soldiers were extradited to the Soviet Union by the Western Allies. General Vlasov himself and his closest associates were convicted of treason and executed in Moscow in 1946.
